Engineering Sustainable Growth for Oman’s Coastal Communities.

Oceanus Coastal Engineers (OCE) carried out the conceptualization master planning and detailed design for the proposed Fishing Harbour at Hasik, Sadah Wilayat, Dofar Governorate, for the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries Wealth & Water Resources, Sultanate of Oman. The scope included conceptual planning, harbour layout development, mathematical and hydraulic model studies, design criteria formulation, detailed engineering, and construction drawings. The project aims to support the local fishing community, who currently operate skiff boats from the beach without proper infrastructure. Hasik is located along the Arabian Sea and features a rubble mound structure, initially built for another facility, which now functions as an effective breakwater. This has led to natural sand accumulation and a stable western shoreline with no significant erosion. These site conditions strongly support the feasibility of a sustainable port. The harbour development is expected to boost the local economy, improve fishermen’s safety, and enhance operational efficiency. The design also emphasizes environmental sensitivity and coastal stability. This facility will serve as a key infrastructure addition in the Dofar region

in numerical modelling packages such as MIKE 21, MIKE3 and LITPACK for currents, waves, storm surge, sediment transport processes, dredging and recirculating analysis, etc.

ITI Civil with 2 years of experience in transforming concepts into precise, functional designs through expert drafting skills. Proficient in producing detailed, accurate construction plans for diverse civil engineering projects, ensuring high-quality, clear, and compliant drawings that align with project goals.

He has vast experience on international assignments especially in Middle East.

Graduated with B.Tech from IIT, Kharagpur and M.S. from University of Florida, has more than 35 years of hands on experience in Port Planning, Structural Design, Mathematical Model Studies, Oceanography, Environment, and Port Construction. Specialises in business strategy and risk analysis has vast experience in consulting and execution management in the USA, Denmarkand Singapore and India.
